In July 1947 the Polish parliament decided to establish the National Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau on those parts of the former concentration camp that had not been destroyed. For your day-long trip to the memorial we will organize the transport to Auschwitz where you will have the opportunity to watch the documentary on the liberation of the camp and tour the museums and complexes of buildings at Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau with your guide. Here you will not only have the chance to take a closer look at one of the darkest chapters of recent German history. Auschwitz is simultaneously a place where different forms of memory become more tangible in their complexity and intricacy as a diversity of concerns and demands are projected onto this place. Following the demise of the communist regime, the onesided memory of the national "Museum Auschwitz" that has been shaped by the West continues to be a topic of discussion and redefinition....
